OUR REVIEWS

"Excellent!"
We spent three nights at the Old Tioga Inn. We were there to hike the Falls Trail at Ricketts Glen. I was drawn to it because (1) in response to the Covid pandemic, there are only four rooms in use, and they all have separate entrances, from the outside; (2) it was close to the park; (3) it looked charming and had great reviews - and those reviews were certainly merited. The room was attractive and very comfortable, with a GREAT mattress on the bed. The room is a bit small but the bathroom was HUGE, which - it turns out - is also where my husband and I can most use the space so we can move around freely while we're getting dressed. AND there is a great big bathtub, which was much appreciated at the end of a long day of hiking. And oh, those aching muscles loved the whirlpool feature in that tub, too. Delicious, ample breakfasts. Even better, there was access to tea and coffee all the time in the breakfast room. And there is access to the kitchen, so we could refill the tea kettle and heat up water for tea whenever we wanted it. AND there was a sweetbite always on offer - pumpkin bread with chocolate chips and peanut butter icing one day, a blueberry scone-like bread another day. Laura also gave us a great recommendation for where to have dinner. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

"Cute, rustic, fun accommodations near Ricketts Glen"
Cute, rustic but clean, quiet and comfortable accommodations close to Ricketts Glen. Breakfast was fantastic. Private bath with jacuzzi tub. No cell service but does have WiFi. Definitely recommend it and would go back. A great way to visit the Glen if you don't camp

"Best B&B I've experienced near state park in PA"
This is a delightful B&B near Ricketts Glen in PA We were seeking a quiet relaxed atmosphere to de-stress and do some nature trips and found both Please note WiFi was spotty and the inn keepers do tell guests this. This was perfect for us as we wanted away from technology The breakfasts were wonderful and plenty of variety and the owners try to accommodate any special food needs We plan to go back again in fall and make this our regular “to go” spot

"Our recent Stay!"
We recently (June 2021) stayed at Old Tioga Inn while we were visiting Ricketts Glen State Park. We stayed in the duck room with private deck entrance and whirlpool tub. Log cabin room was comfortable. Laurie was nice, provided helpful tips and directions and made an awesome breakfast!! Highly recommend!

"Dog Friendly and Close to Ricketts Glen"
We stayed in the Deer room. We were allowed to have our dog with us. The room had a private entrance and a jetted tub. It was a slice of heaven in the middle of the woods. Breakfast was amazing and there were so many special little touches in the room they are too numerous to list here. We would definitely recommend staying here and we are already planning our next visit.

"Waterfall ice hiking with Valley To Summit adventures"

"Our recent stay"
We stayed here last week while we were visiting nearby Ricketts Glen State Park. Best part of our stay is that is very close to the park. Owner and family very friendly. I enjoyed my breakfast very much. The room on the other hand was lacking a night stand, the in-room coffee pot was a little gross so I went without and there was not much room to move around very large bed, The bathroom was huge and for the most part fairly clean. In my opinion a little overpriced at $194.25 but I guess you're paying for the proximity to the park. I think next time we'll stay a bit further away in Bloomsburg,

"Great Disconnect back to nature"
I was looking for a place to stay close to Ricketts Glen State Park. I was concerned about COVID. This place was perfect. They had rooms with an outside entrance. A cute little porch with rocking chair and little bistro seating. There was a jacuzzi tub with sea parade shower. There was apple cinnamon banana bread in the fridge upon arrival. Room had coffee machine, tea kettle with multiple flavors of tea and every form of sweetener you could imagine. Breakfast was brought to our porch each morning. Fresh fruit( very sweet), oj, eggs, bacon, and home fried potatoes one day. Stuffed French toast, sausage, and eggs the next. All delicious. They had the fixings available to build a fire in the fire ring and to make s’mores. Yum. Very relaxing. Best part was it was about 5 minute drive to the park. Spectacular hiking with 22 waterfalls. Laura and Mike ( and the girls) were gracious hosts.

"Deer" bed and breakfast!
Stayed here while hiking in Ricketts Glenn State Park. The owner was friendly and I got to feed the goats! The Deer Room was sizable for two people and the bathroom was huge. There was a shower and a jetted tub. There was the ability to have an air conditioner or a space heater, although the room temp was perfect without either (the owner made sure to check the temp was good for us!). The bed was comfortable (we brought our own pillows, although some are provided). There is a deck with chairs so you can enjoy the sun, and there was a massive fire pit in the yard (which we used, and the owner provided us with a s’mores basket and the fire wood!). The food was delicious! It was homemade and the owner even made us some banana bread. Would stay here again!

"This Deserves 5 Stars"
This was our first stay here. Clean, great pine smells, comfortable sitting areas and private rooms with bathrooms. Laura, the owner, is friendly and personable and cooks an absolutely wonderful breakfasts, different each day. Plently of warmth, hot water, tv in our room, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Close to Ricketts Glen State Park, and close to the Auto and Air Museum, and Eagles Mere.

"An amazing, quiet getaway"
I had such a lovely experience here. Laura is an amazing hostess and the house and surrounding property is absolutely gorgeous. She also has adorable goats, ducks, chickens, dogs, and a cat on the grounds. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs some quiet time to rest and relax. There are also a lot of great hiking trails in the surrounding areas. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will likely go back in the future!

"Amazing stay"
We found this hidden gem and was just what we wanted. Peace and quiet reconnecting with nature. Laura the owner was the definition of hospitality. We felt like family there, from the home style cabin rooms to the fresh made breakfast she prepared with her on site food ingredients. Great location nearby the Ricketts Glen waterfall hike. Within easy drive of nice, higher end restaurants also. Great balance of seclusion in nature and other options. Highly recommend it here. Elena ❤️Adam

"Beyond our Expectations"
From the time we arrived we knew this was no average B&B. After being greeted by two sweet bulldogs we entered the Inn to retrieve our key. This beautiful log cabin home has a huge dining area with vaulted ceilings and local goods displayed like honey, essential oils, coffee, handmade soaps and even feed for the goats and chickens on property. (One of our favorite things to do) There is also a huge living room with TV and more than 150 dvd/vhs movies available for guests, a side room with recliners, a soothing water feature and all the pamphlets and info you need for the area. Laura is a gracious hostess and thought of everything, there was always a jar of water with mint/lime or lemon as well as homemade cake or bread and assorted candies available in the dining area. Breakfast was fantastic, endless coffee, juice, large bowls of fresh fruit and special dishes she prepared each morning and served individually. (The portions which you have to see to believe, we loved to watch the faces of new guests when they got their first meal!) The room had everything we needed and extra just in case, even a power strip in case we needed more outlets. Phone reception was spotty but have no fear, Laura provided a land line to book your trips or dinners. Outside on the covered porch are rocking chairs, a porch swing or relax on the open deck with table and chairs. There was also a bonfire area set up, all we had to do is light it and enjoy the warmth and company of other guests. Make sure to take the S'mores "kit" to the fire with you.The Inn is only a few miles from Ricketts Glen Park and the beautiful falls. If you love nature and want to experience something truly special, come to Old Tioga Inn....thank you Laura!

"Convenient easy access to activities"
When we arrived at the Inn we were greeted by a pair of English bulldogs (behind a fence) politely barking for scritches. Entering the inn and dining room we were treated to a combo general store and homestead kitchen. We read, again, the instructions left for us by Laura, and found the keys to our room. We noted the Keurig, coffee maker and extensive selection of teas. After a 3 hour drive to the Inn entering our room was sheer delight. Ahhh, the room! My wife immediately fell in love with the quilt and I the pine cone coat and towel hangers. The jetted tub! Private deck and entrance were such a pleasant change too. No road noise, no elevators, just perfect. We slept later than normal, and walked to the dining room where Laura was cooking us a breakfast. The lady is genius! There was no menu, there was just one of the best breakfast meals we had ever had. We hope to return again in Autumn and certainly next year again or our anniversary.

"Perfect stay!"
My husband and I traveled here to celebrate our one year anniversary. It was his first B&B experience so we were a little nervous. The moment we arrived we were blown away by how beautifully Laura has everything prepared. We stayed in one of the Master Quarter's rooms which are so worth the extra dollars. Her breakfast is amazing and she gives excellent advise on the area and visiting the falls. We stayed for only a weekend, but felt as though we were gone for a week! I cannot recommend this place enough. Everyone should stay here!

"Oasis Nestled near the falls"
We came here spur of the moment. Despite being a bit out of sorts from a recent storm, Laura treated us like family. We had a wonderful stay and the country breakfast was delicious. Laura told us about the nearby waterfalls and hiking trails. Even though we did not have much time, Laura pointed us to a short hike that fit our schedule and was beautiful too boot! I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone, singles, families and couples.

"Fantastic"
It was my first time in a cabin and it was fantastic. We booked the room on the second floor since it was only one night or I would have booked the jacuzzi room for two nights. I was sad to go and I definitely plan on going back. Laura is amazing. She is friendly and respectful, made me feel like i was at a friends house. Her dogs are ADORABLE! and so sweet. They are great guard dogs 😂 they bark when they see you the first few times and then stop, but alert you when new people approach. It was a relief to feel security from that since I'm not use to the countries isolation. Her cat is super friendly but not invasive. I can't say enough good things about that wonderful experience.

"Beautiful getaway near Ricketts Glen State Park
My boyfriend (now fiance!) and I stayed for a couple of nights in November, right before Thanksgiving. They had just gotten a foot of snow a few days before we got there (we're from Texas so that's a lot!), so the whole property was covered in a beautiful blanket of fresh, white snow. It was so magical! The Inn was beautiful inside and out - I was glad we had the whole thing to ourselves, because we spent a lot of time in the living room cozying by the fire/heater, playing board games, and picking out movies to watch from their DVD collection. They also have goats and chickens that you can pay a few bucks for snacks to feed them and a super friendly outdoor kitty that sits in your lap and cuddles. We spent some time at Ricketts Glen State Park, which is only about a 15 minute drive away from the Inn. Laura, the Inn owner, was absolutely lovely! Her breakfasts were delicious, and the conversation engaging! We will definitely come back to the state park for anniversaries and we will definitely stay at The Old Tioga Inn!

"Lovely pine paneled B&B"
Stayed two weekday nights in October. The property is like a rather large cabin. I saw two of the bedrooms and both very nice. There is a large common area living room and sitting room that I enjoyed as a place to sit and read. Breakfast was generous and accommodations for food intolerances readily made. Hostess Laura was very welcoming. This Inn is located 4 miles from Rickett's Glen, making it very convenient for trips to the park and its legendary waterfalls. For a Benton place to stay it is certainly five stars; for all B&Bs I gave it 4 stars and recommend it.

"Two day family get-away"
This B& B was the best! Excellent accommodations, superior innkeepers, great location, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our teenagers said, "This was the best vacation ever!" Enough said! Ha! We will be sure to return! Thank you to our new friends at the Old Tioga Inn!

"Location, Location, Location..."
We chose this B&B for it’s closeness to Ricketts Glen State Park and the hiking trips we planned for the weekend. And it fit the bill. All our trailheads were with 15 mins. of the B&B. As far as the inn itself, we found it homey and accommodating. The WiFi service was inconsistent - but that is expected in a rural location. And we were here to get away anyway. The breakfast was good with generous portions. The owners Laura and Mike were very friendly. And I echo the earlier comments about talking to Laura before planning your visit to the park. She is very knowledgeable of the area.

"Overnight get away"
My husband and I were very happy to find this gem, near Rickett's Glen! The owners were very accommodating and friendly. They made us feel very welcome and wanted. Loved the quiet tranquility of the location and privacy. Breakfast was amazing, better than what we've found in restaurants! Great establishment!

"Just What We Needed"
My girlfriend and I were looking for an extended weekend away and she called this location. We were gonna arrive late into the evening and the owner made sure we were able to find our room ok. Now, we had our idea what the room would be. When we entered, it exceeded our imaginations. Very cozy. Huge bed. Hot tub. In the morning and every morning, breakfast was excellent! Also we talked around our plans and the owner was very knowledgable on how to get to the park and offered various options on how to tackle the hike. We will definitely be coming back to this inn.

"A Treat in the middle of nowhere"
My husband & I booked this the week before when we decided at the last minute to get away and go hiking. Trip advisor ranked this place at the top of the list, and to be honest we had never stayed at a B&B, and were quite nervous. This place is wonderful, each “cabin” is a bedroom, plus you own bathroom (jetted tub, shower, & toilet & sink). The room had tv, WiFi and a mini fridge. Plus access to the house with a full kitchen. The free breakfast was delicious, which i am sure is due to the onsite chickens, with amazingly fresh eggs! They have goats and a sweet cat & dog too. I highly recommended this place, super close to hiking for ricketts Glenn plus the owner, Laura, will personally recommend the best hiking plan for you. Listen to her advice as she really knows her stuff. As a bonus, she is a young living Essential oil distributor, and has amazing organic bug spray as well as other treats.

"Wonderful Place!"
Wonderful Place! This is how a bed and breakfast should be run! The owners(Laura and Mike) were so friendly and accommodating, it was honestly like staying at a friend's house. We were able to check-in in the AM which left us plenty of time to hike Ricketts Glen (we were only there overnight). All rooms and common areas were clean and nicely decorated. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, something important to me. They had an extensive DVD collection, which my son enjoyed. Everything was so peaceful and homey, with drinks and snacks available to us. Breakfast was incredible with fresh ingredients. There are goats, chickens and a friendly cat on the property. There is a lovely front porch with rocking chairs,( some of the rooms have private decks)as well as a fire pit. I would absolutely recommend The Old Tioga Inn for anyone visiting this beautiful area.

"Fantastic place!"
What a wonderful establishment! My wife and I spent our first anniversary weekend at Ricketts Glen, and chose the Old Tioga B&B based on the numerous excellent reviews it had received online. The reviews did not lie: this was a great place to stay. Laura was a tremendous host; she was only a text away from answering any questions we had, provided a hearty breakfast every morning, and gave us some great advice on hiking the Falls Trail at the park (yes, parking at the bottom, hiking up the left side of the “Y” and crossing over at the Highland Trail to hike down the other side was absolutely the best way to do it). We enjoyed the experience of meeting new people at breakfast, relaxing in this laid back venue, and even enjoyed a campfire one night. If I had to list any gripes about the B&B, it would be that the Internet was spotty at best. However, that’s not on Laura, it’s merely a product of living out in the country where she does, and did not negatively affect our stay there in any way. Thank you for everything during our stay to make our first anniversary weekend memorable, Laura!

"A Gem in the Forest"
This was our second stay at the Inn. Laura, the owner and operator of this fine establishment, was friendly, kind, and attentive to the needs of every guest. From the moment you enter the Inn, you get the feeling you’re stepping into your home or the home of a family member. The rooms are neat and nicely decorated according to various themes. In the morning you can look forward to a full breakfast that Laura cooks herself. When we return to the area next year we will stay here again!

"Like staying with Family"
Laura and her entire family were amazing. I can't think of one thing they could've done better. Everything we needed, or could possibly need was there waiting for us. Laura cooks an amazing breakfast, a full plate with options for even the pickest of eaters. We had a lot of privacy while staying with a full house of guests. We we're able to bring our dog almost everywhere we went on her property. The waterfalls are about 5 minutes away and Laura and Mike know everything there is to know about them. The rooms are beautiful, clean and well maintained with a lot of charm. Went with my husband but I will bring the whole family next time. We had a wonderful, quiet, relaxing time at the Old Tioga Inn.

"Awesome place"
I love this B&B. We have stayed at a few places up near Ricketts Glen and this one tops the cake. Very warm and welcoming. Laura was a great host. Great view. So clean that it appears brand new, no smells. Lots of regular sized towels and washcloths. Extra soft pillows. There was plenty of hangers in the closet. There are even essential oil sprays and bath products along with a diffuser available for use without extra charge. That’s a big plus. The breakfast we were served was beyond expectation. Everything was hot and fresh. The potatoes cooked to perfection. Egg and broccoli casserole was delicious. Then there was the fresh fruit salad that was mouth watering! They offer free WiFi which some places do not have. When you have loved ones at home that may need to contact you this is an important amenity. Whatever we needed they had. We will definitely be back!
